about
A nostalgic synthrock song about the upside of time passing: we got to be young back then.
Collaboration with Flashback81, also available on his EP of vocal synthwave songs "The Heartbreak Mixtape" flashback81.bandcamp.com.
lyrics
grass is pushing up through the cracks in the drive in
do you remember when
we grew up in a town full of ghosts
we never noticed cuz
we were falling in love
we were busy fogging up the windows
in the back of your dad's car
from here it feels so far
but it's worth being older now
cuz we got to be young back then
I love you just as much right now
as I loved you when
you would turn to me in slow motion
and there were no more words
the pinks and blues have faded to brown at the roller rink
we'd meet up for a drink
we were always living for the weekend
time never passed for us
cuz we were falling in love
singing karaoke, shooting darts
in the back of the bang bang bar
from here it feels so far

In the second volume of jacket.'s album series, he has brought in a small army of collaborators to assist in making an album that is, by definition, Synthwave, but that stands on its own in terms of beautiful production, thought provoking songwriting, and breathtaking performance. There is not a bad track on this album. The range seems to move from somewhere between Exceptional and Legendary. If you love quality songwriting and music, do not miss this album. FoxPuppy

The only way that Neilio could have improved upon this massive power synth-shred track is to get Kaarin Zoe Lee to jump on it and lay down some truth, which, conveniently, he has done. FoxPuppy
