KydiaMusic This album is the perfect blend of 80's-inspired Pop and Synthwave, with epic soaring melodies layered with passionate lyrics that are deftly expressed with powerhouse vocals. Favorite tracks are Hinterlands and Live Wire. I wish Blue Nagoon's voice was featured more on the album, to balance out the more female-led songs. His voice is the perfect timbre for this style of music. But regardless, I can't stop listening to it! Favorite track: Live Wire.

tangled in your tresses in your bed I never saw the bridge was crumbling up ahead drowning in the pools of your eyes I never saw the sun already on the rise the call of the horizon oh here there be dragons I belong in the hinterlands on the ragged edge on the boundary far from you You would still a beating heart but the bitter truth is there's one thing love can't do You play for keeps I play to win Your touch the coldest fire on my skin This house is burning while you're spinning in your dress I am deafened by the call of the wilderness

the moment they open the cage baby we're gonna run let them try to cut us down the light at the end of the tunnel as bright as the sun I'll meet you on the edge of town we never wanted any of this fight we were content to muddle through it a quiet life water plants and cut the flowers cocktails in the golden hour here's to, here's to the end of the world no fear we'll see it through you are no Juliet (or this can be changed to "I am no Juliet") I'm here I promise you this isn't over yet tune out the grind of the gears and you'll still hear my voice you only need to follow me one foot in front of the other each moment a choice we will stand against the sea leap across the light years time will catch up and they'll die here all alone in the winter rain leave it to the understudy leave them broken bruised or bloody here's to, here’s to the end of the world no fear we'll see it through you are no Juliet (or this can be changed to "I am no Juliet") I'm here I promise you this isn't over yet we'll finally be free by sheer force of will well that tank is empty now may it never refill the moment they open the cage we're gonna run oh yeah the light at the end of this tunnel baby it's as bright as the sun

I thought I was a master of disguise a bright veneer atop the mess inside looking back I'm not surprised you saw through it, you don't want me to hide the fact that you want me whole and not in pieces takes some getting used to when you’ve loved the way I’ve loved throwing all of me in front of faster cars for reasons I can’t explain but somehow you know I would destroy everything I built at your command if you asked me to I'd give up, give in, let 'em win but now I understand that's something you would never do if it were just one word I wouldn't listen there was a time when I stood so tall feels like I was built to let it all in all the little messengers of doubt that say I should crawl back to those who wanted the ideal I didn’t know that’s not how love should feel throwing all of me in front of faster cars for reasons I can’t explain but somehow you know I would tear it down I would let it burn But you would never ask me baby and I've gotta learn To have a voice outside To match the voice inside me To never wonder if - baby I could sure get used to this
4.
Head high I walked straight out of hell flick of my wrist I extinguished the flames the wages of sin, the power of love nothing can compare when you whisper my name I saw it through I bear the scars I need you to follow the north star I’m through following rules I’m through suffering fools I’m through you never feared me the power inside me I was the fire you were the earth and we were whole I am prepared - forsake all the rest we will be the last two standing if it means we keep control I'm in bloom at the touch of your hand our moment soon you understand that I’m through following rules I’m through suffering fools I’m through it's not like this with anybody else one touch, one kiss and I am the aurora
5.
I can go backward back to the pink the neon and chrome As far as you need to If it helps you feel like you’re not alone I dare you to hold your breath sink to the bottom don’t let this daydream end cuz out there in the real I don’t know if I can deal baby I don’t know who I am I don’t know how to be here I don’t know how to be now It’s never the same river twice I’ll try to remember me That I was in love with you try to rebuild paradise If I can step in the same river twice We could go forward find some utopia and live in the stars Nobody wants for what we all need for it’s rightfully ours I dare you to cast your spell, weave your enchantment around us and don’t let it end cuz I don’t know where I start and where the terror begins baby I don’t know who I am We stormed the wall and tore it down Heard a voice and turned around Found each other in the We built a house of glass and steel I’ll read the signs you take the wheel one kiss and we can make it real I don't' know how to be me, or how to be here I don't know how, I don't know how... Baby I don't know who I am
6.
now the strangest thing the whole world rings endlessly resonating I never heard it nothing stirred it til you found me complicating what should be a simple plan when you burst into song I understand When you sing I swear hear the spheres The turning of the gears The passing of the years I'll spend with you you laugh and I'm ablaze the sunlight comes in rays illuminates the days I'll spend with you up until the sun the web we spun a melody captivating hearts no false starts a work of art you found me separating what should be one in the spin take my hand we'll jump in oh oh oh oh maybe I lean in too much oh oh oh oh maybe I'm drunk from your touch but I could swear I hear something I know wasn't there before you

Live Wire 03:46
so the story goes When the days are so short you sleep through the light and everybody knows but nobody says how we're fighting the fight Now every night I'm slain by your hand on my back as I slip into the dark when the long night falls again I'm blinded by the smallest spark One sip of diginity and you'd better drive One act of kindness and I'm buried alive 'cause trapped inside of my head with the panic and dread is this live wire and so we hold it in all the whirl and buzz and damage it does but when the walls are thin we can hear that we're all one step from the fall though my insulation's not as thick as it was or maybe should be I believe without hesitation I'm cast in steel when you reach for me the smallest thing, a moment's peace, and I let somebody in suddenly I'm sparks and fire I wake and lay eyes on you and the world falls away and I am left with this live wire
8.
I heard you speaking in past tense You were starting to make sense What have we done I saw that spark in your eye again Should we even try again What have we become We had it all but we stumbled in a moment of weakness We thought the deepening peace and the quiet was darkness We meant to let in just a little light But when the curtain opened we were blinded we wore the colors acted like the others and turned out We put ourselves in the firing line 'til we burned out went one by two into a coal mine Believed the lie that we'd find gold I remember when I promised you That I would have and I would hold what have we done? I still love you I heard you speaking in past tense and this is not making any sense What have we done I saw that spark in your eye again and I know we gotta try again what will we become?
9.
I keep you in the corner of my eye Behind the tear that never dries That way I pretend you have a heart and a soul Where did you go? This year was a spotlight The closing time fluorescent lights And you sure look like hell Now I gotta cut you out You eliminated any doubt There's anything beneath that shell I know what you are now now that sun has set I can't forgive I can't forget what you are now yeah now that sun has set I can't forgive, I can't forget I suppose I always had suspicions Subtracting you would be addition All the excuses cancel out all out at once And there you are This year was a wake up call In the morning light we saw it all We would make it to the end But we'd get there in spite of you Confirming what we always knew You're more foe than friend Sometimes we give sometimes we take The branch we're on it will bend not break For we stand here lighter than ever now for love This year was a wake up call In the morning light we saw it all We would make it to the end without you
10.
she left you in a glass cage, left you in a long wake and she left you to drown if only if you could see it you could break it but she painted this town I watch from the shore I can't get closer to you cuz you will pull me down I wish I could be your tangent Break you from this circle break you from these chains I wish I could be your constant Make it all add up but still the ghost of her remains you won't go down fighting you think it's flying she turned your world on its head for years I kept the faith you'd find me ever trying fruitlessly pulling that thread all the alibis unwound I'd show you what I found but you would drag me down I would wish you free but it's not up to me I can only watch as you go 'round and 'round
11.
I watch you walk the beaches I see your plaintive looks over the breaking waves over my wat’ry grave When the longest night comes When you’re at your darkest I will call you home You don’t have to be alone We learned to read the current As daughters of the sea we feared the undertow but I would lose control You always loved my wild heart I was the one who stood out from the other girls You brought me shells and pearls I felt the pull of the veil It took my fear away I want that for you We’ll sail into the night Beneath the pale moonlight I’ll be with you when tide begins to turn again In your eyes there was a spark When I left you it went dark Down here together you won’t ever need to burn again There were always rumors wicked glances cast across the village square where we would kneel in prayer I couldn't keep the secrets I couldn't hide the lust in my heart anymore in a trance I found the shore The shock of the cold stole my breath In a moment there was nothing and I want that for you I was the underfoot girl Fearless in the riggings I would leap from ship to ship You were the boy on the bow Watching for horizons With a song on your lips Then we got older Desire took over I'd crash into you like the waves On the beach outside our cave Where the promises we made were made forever Promise broke in two Summer turned to winter like I walked through a door I will make it up to you I'll pull you down and none of it will matter anymore

about

"HERE BE DRAGONS" is an 11-track vocal synthrock tour de force combining elements of late 80s/early 90s pop music with synthwave, modern pop, rock, and even musical theater, prog, and symphonic metal.

It features nine different lead vocalists including five fellow Alaskans and singer-producers Rose Alaimo from New York and Neaon from Austraila.

The songwriting throws back to Blue Nagoon's younger days as a singer-songwriter with a focus on storytelling and character. The narrators in "Tangent" and "Your Command" struggle with breaking unhealthy cycles. "Hinterlands" and "Aurora" are love songs infused with fantasy and
scifi. "Forgive Forget" and "Live Wire" address the personal costs of life in these times. And just to keep the listener on their toes the album closes with "Withernsea," a 10-minute prog pop ghost story.
